Living Life Purposefully

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.

Jer 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thought of peace, and not of evil, to give you and expected end.

"Our lot in life is to seek and to search. Now and again we find just enough to enable us to carry on. I doubt that any of us will completely find and be found." - Jean Toomer

Beloved, I just want to encourage you no matter who you are, no matter what your station in life is, to know that God has a plan for your life. God would not have created you without placing deep inside your spirit the meaning for your very existence. You were purposefully created. There is something in the earth that God has created for your hands to do, and for your mind to produce. The thrill of life is not so much in the attainment as it is in the pursuit of that which God has placed here for me to do.

Life can be dull and boring with little or no excitement, if you don't have an understanding of your purpose. In order to understand your purpose, you must seek the knowledge of the Creator, which in our case is God. The Father has left His Word as a record for us to utilize to discover his purposes for our lives. The main reason that we are to study the Word meticulously is so that we can discover the mind of God concerning our lives. If this year is to be any different for you than it was last year, you must approach life from another angle, God's angle.

Fulfillment in life only comes when a person is matched with and pursuing passionately their purpose. Often your life's skill set is an indication as to what the Father would have you to do in life. There are also times when God would have you to fine tune what you already have within you. Ultimate fulfillment in life comes from knowing and doing the will of God. There are too many people, who are depressed, bitter, or perhaps envious, because they have not sought the Lord to know what they should themselves be doing.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. (James 1:5-NIV).
