The Power of Forgiveness

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.
Ps 32:1-5

Ps 32:1-5

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile. When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah (KJV)

"There are two ways of covering our sins: man's way and God's way. If you seek to hide them, they will have a resurrection sometime; but if you let the Lord cover them, neither the Devil nor man will ever be able to find them again." - D.L. Moody

Greetings to all in the name of God who is our Lord and Kinsman Redeemer. Our heavenly Father desires more than anything else for us that we would be whole. In order for this to be the case we must earnestly seek to walk in alignment with the Word of God. There are principles that God has set in motion that when obeyed they allow us to prosper and be in health, living a life that is fulfilling in all of its facets.

Evangelist Billy Graham makes a statement that I believe we should consider, he says, " I believe that 75 percent of patients in hospitals would be made whole ifthey would forgive." To this I would only add that at least that many if not more would be made whole if they would seek to be forgiven by God. The enemy uses guilt and shame to keep many people in a perpetual state of bondage. The writer of the Psalm that we have used for our subject suggests that the physical infirmity that was taking place in his life was due in part to guilt, shame, and a lack of God's forgiveness. Let us be clear on this one thing, it was not that God did not want to forgive him, it was that he had not yet asked in faith.
