The Blessings of Obedience

By Apostle Joseph Hobbs, Th.D.
Isa 1:19

Isa 1:19

If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: (KJV)

"God uses broken things: broken soil and broken clouds to produce grain; broken grain to produce bread; broken bread to feed our bodies. He wants our stubbornness broken into humble obedience." -Vance Havner

Greetings in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, who is the epitome of obedience. The obedience of Christ was unto death, even the death of the cross. Beloved, were it not for the unquestionable obedience of Christ to the Father we would be lost with no hope of redemption. But, because He was obedient, I can rejoice in knowing that my salvation is secure.

The Lord is calling this ministry to a new level of willingness and obedience, without which we will not see the fulfillment of God's promises over our lives. We seem to think that we can give God partial obedience and receive the fullness of His blessings in our lives. Not so! In fact partial obedience with God is not even accounted as obedience at all. Our obedience to the Lord through obeying His Word comes with conditional promises of blessings and benefits too innumerable to contain.

The manner in which you give unto the Lord and His work is an indicator of your love and your obedience to Him. Your obedience in love for the Word of God releases the grace of God to meet our every need. Faith in the Word of God should always lead to a corresponding action or deed. If you and I believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God we can only prove it through our obedience to it.

I am speaking today of our financial gifts offered unto the Lord. We must not allow the enemy to rob us of the victory of His grace through disbelief and disregard of His Word. Satan would love nothing more than to keep you and me from receiving our rightful inheritance in the faith. Tithing is more about releasing the grace of giving than it is about the money itself. If you and I want to see the promised return upon the Word concerning open windows from heaven, we must give God's way. Obedience to God is essential for the release of His promises.
