Commitment to God Prospers the Soul

2 Chr 31:21

And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered. (KJV)

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstances permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results" - Art Turock

Greetings to all in the name of Christ. I truly want to impress upon your hearts today the important, necessity, and the benefit of commitment to God. The text above gives us a snapshot of what made King Hezekiah prosperous. The greatest benefit to the king was his desire, willingness, and ability to put the things of God in proper priority in his life. In the life of the king God was unquestionable first. It is unfortunate that in our post-modem society the things of God are optional or hobbies at best. We view them as things to do as proof of one's political correctness, but not as an essential to prosperous living.

King Hezekiah gave focused and devoted attention to the House of God, he realized that the answers to life's difficult questions as a leader of a nation could only come from the God who created the nations. The king was attentive in the application of God' s Word to the situations that arose within the kingdom. The Scripture says in fact that whatever he did for God was done with his whole heart. The end result of this wholehearted service was a prosperous life and a prosperous kingdom.

Beloved, we have become so distracted by the cares of this present world that we tend to forget that we are created eternal beings. We will live eternally. The things that we fight and claw to achieve in this life is only temporal or temporary, they will soon wither and fade away. However, the investment in spiritual things will last throughout eternity. I believe that there is a direct correlation to the way that we treat the things of God and our own success and advancement in life.

I encourage each of you to begin to seek the Lord for what level of commitment He would have you to offer to your church, your ministry and the things of God in general. God rewards commitment!
